Why handmade fans matter
Plenty of studios buy pre-made fans by the tray and glue them on assembly-line style. We roll every fan at the bed, in the moment, from fibres as fine as 0.05mm. A handmade fan wraps the natural lash at its base, which means better retention, a softer seam and a set that moves like lashes instead of sitting like a strip.
Within the volume family you choose your dialect: wispy mixes closed spikes with open fans for that editorial, textured flutter; hybrid alternates classic singles with fans for dimensional density; Russian volume commits fully, with 3D to 6D fans building a rich, velvet lash line.
The appointment
Volume work is slow by design — two to two and a half hours of isolation, rolling and placement. Your artist maps the design against your eye shape first and checks the density plan with you before starting. Herbal tea before, silent phone policy throughout, and you will very likely nap.
Keeping the drama alive
Wash daily with oil-free cleanser, brush through mornings, sleep on your back or a silk pillowcase if you can, and infill every two to three weeks. Fans that have grown out get removed and replaced, never left to twist.
